Samsung introduces live translation feature for its TVs at CES 2025

At CES 2025, Samsung announced it is bringing a popular feature from its phones and tablets to its TVs: Live Translate. This feature provides real-time translation for live broadcasts and will support seven languages at launch, though the specific languages have not yet been confirmed. Instead of processing audio directly, Live Translate works by translating closed captions displayed during broadcasts.

Initially introduced in early 2024 with the Galaxy S24, Live Translate currently supports 13 languages on mobile devices, nearly double the number available for the TV version at launch. The feature has been praised for its ease of use and accessibility, making it a natural addition to Samsung’s 2025 TV lineup.

Samsung is also introducing another innovative feature aimed at improving accessibility: AI-based Voice Removal with Audio Subtitles. This technology is designed to enhance the viewing experience for visually impaired users by analyzing subtitles, isolating voices, and adjusting reading speeds for a smoother, more seamless experience.

Both features are set to debut with Samsung’s 2025 TVs, highlighting the company’s commitment to integrating advanced AI-driven solutions into its products. However, Samsung has not yet indicated whether these updates will be backward-compatible with older TV models.

By extending Live Translate and AI-based accessibility features to its TVs, Samsung continues to enhance its ecosystem with tools designed to make technology more inclusive and functional for users worldwide. These advancements represent the company’s broader push to leverage AI for practical, user-centric innovations.
