Elvie, a female-founded hardware startup, has introduced the Elvie Rise, an app-controlled smart bouncer that seamlessly transforms into a bassinet while the baby remains inside. Announced at CES 2025 on Monday, the Elvie Rise eliminates the need for parents and caregivers to move their baby between different soothing, sleep, and play devices.
Known for its range of femtech products, such as a connected breast pump and smart pelvic floor exerciser, Elvie is now branching into the sleep category with this innovative offering.
In bouncer mode, the Elvie Rise uses the company’s SootheLoop technology to replicate and continue the bounce initially set by a parent or caregiver. If preferred, it can also be used as a manual bouncer without automation. When converted into a bassinet, the smart bouncer adheres to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) sleep safety guidelines, making it suitable for both nighttime sleep and naptime. Parents and caregivers can control the automated bouncing through the companion Elvie Rise Sleep & Soothe app, which also provides valuable insights into the baby’s sleep patterns.
The Elvie Rise features a firm, flat mattress, breathable fabrics, and a magnetic contact charger for cordless use. The product meets U.S. safety standards for both bassinets and bouncers.
Elvie’s Chief Product Officer, Alex Knox, commented, “After speaking to hundreds of postpartum parents, we found that after feeding, baby soothing and sleep were their next biggest stressors. The Elvie Rise gives parents and caregivers the chance to have some hands-free, guilt-free time, knowing their baby is safe and sound.”
