OPPO FIND N5:
Oppo’s upcoming Find N5 foldable phone is nearly as thin as its USB-C port when unfolded, according to photos shared by the company. Set to be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 for its US release, the flagship will also feature top-tier water resistance. Oppo has been teasing the Find N5 on Chinese social media platform Weibo over the past week.

Product manager Zhou Yibao recently shared photos showcasing its slim profile, noting that the limitation to making it even thinner is the size of the charging port. These images follow a video in which Zhou compares the folded Find N5 to everyday items like two Chinese yuan coins, a stack of four ID cards, or 39 sticky notes, illustrating how compact the device is.
FIND N5:
Oppo claims the Find N5 is the thinnest foldable phone yet. The current title holder is the Honor Magic V3, which measures 4.35mm thick when open, so the Find N5 is expected to be around 4mm thick. This makes it about half the thickness of the 8.25mm iPhone 16 Pro Max shown in the photos. For comparison, a USB-C port is at least 2.6mm thick.

Additionally, Zhou teased the phone’s water resistance, revealing it is IPX9-rated. While it lacks official dust protection (the ‘X’), the device has been tested to endure high-temperature and high-pressure water jets. It also holds an IPX8 rating for submersion and an IPX6 rating for lower temperature water jets. In contrast, the OnePlus 13, launching this month, is IP69-rated, offering both dust and water protection.
Oppo’s previous foldable, the Find N3 (skipping the N4 due to cultural associations in China), was eventually released in the West as the OnePlus Open. If the same rebranding happens here, it could become strong competition for Samsung and Google’s foldable offerings. We’ll learn more when the Find N5 launches in China next month.
