Apple is set to launch the new MacBook Air M4 this week, following a teaser from CEO Tim Cook, who hinted at the release with the phrase, “There’s something in the air.” The upcoming MacBook Air will be available in 13-inch and 15-inch models, continuing Apple’s tradition of lightweight, high-performance laptops.
The MacBook Air M4 is expected to be powered by Apple’s latest M4 chip, featuring a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine capable of handling up to 38 trillion operations per second. This represents a notable upgrade from the M3, making it more efficient for demanding tasks.
Additionally, the new MacBook Air is rumored to feature a 12MP camera with Center Stage support, ensuring users stay in the frame during video calls. The Thunderbolt 3 ports on current models might also be upgraded to Thunderbolt 4, providing faster data transfers and improved connectivity.
Apple has also introduced two new iPads: the iPad 11, replacing the tenth-generation model, and the updated iPad Air 7. The iPad 11 now features the A16 chip, while the iPad Air 7 is powered by the M3 chip. While the overall design remains the same, the iPad Air 7 includes a new Magic Keyboard with a 14-key function row and USB Type-C charging, previously exclusive to the M4 iPad Pro. These updates bring better performance and enhanced functionality across Apple’s product lineup.
