Instagram Unveils 2024 Collage Feature with New Year-Themed Fonts
Instagram has introduced a new collage feature, allowing users to create a compilation of their shared moments from the past year, according to a recent report. The collage feature appears in the Instagram story interface once users select and resize their images. Additionally, Instagram is rolling out new New Year-themed templates for its \”Add Yours\” feature in stories.
Instagram\’s 2024 Collage Feature
Available through the first week of January, the new collage feature lets Instagram users select multiple images, arrange them freely on the screen, and choose from a variety of New Year-themed fonts. Options include phrases like “How 2024 Started,” “How 2024 Ended,” and “HNY.” After creating their collage, users can share it as a story with their followers.

The platform is also introducing year-end-themed templates for the \”Add Yours\” feature, enabling users to share their collages in response. Additionally, Instagram is offering New Year and Countdown text effects, holiday-themed options for direct messages (DMs), and special phrases like “Happy New Year” and “Hello 2025” that trigger festive on-screen effects in DMs and Notes.
This update builds on Instagram’s recent feature additions, including the \”Trial Reels\” feature, which allows creators to test new content with non-followers and track performance metrics such as views, likes, comments, and shares within 24 hours.
