Marvel Snap is set to return to app stores, starting with Google Play, as announced by developer Second Dinner. The game will begin the process of being restored to Google’s Android store at 6 PM PT / 3 PM ET, with plans to be available on both Google and Apple app stores “as early as next week.”
The mobile card game was temporarily affected by the TikTok outage last weekend due to its original publisher, Nuverse, being owned by TikTok’s parent company ByteDance. Marvel Snap was back online for players by Monday, and Second Dinner revealed plans to bring more services in-house and partner with a new publisher. Despite this, the game is still listed as “provided, operated, and managed by Nuverse” on its privacy policy.
In response to the outage, a compensation package, including in-game credits, tokens, and special variants, has been offered to affected players, particularly those in the US. Players from other regions will receive a “Global Gratitude Package” with similar benefits, though fewer in number.
While apps like CapCut and Lemon8 have resumed operation, they have yet to appear in the iOS and Android app stores. The situation surrounding TikTok and the US government’s stance on app bans remains unclear.
