Nvidia is transforming the gaming experience with AI-powered teammates, featuring its cutting-edge “ACE” (Autonomous Game Characters) technology, showcased at CES 2025. ACE characters, which have been developed over two years, are designed to engage in realistic in-game conversations using generative AI. Now, Nvidia is enhancing these AI characters to act autonomously, taking their capabilities further by adding a Co-Playable Character (CPC) to PUBG.
Don’t sacrifice graphics settings for more frames. With up to 3X the performance of previous-generations, the GeForce GTX 10 Series delivers the ultimate Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds experience at Ultra settings and over 60 frames per second.
This new AI teammate, called the “PUBG Ally,” is set to help players achieve victory by offering strategic recommendations, locating loot, driving vehicles, and fighting enemies, all while communicating with players using game-specific language. Powered by small language models (SLMs), ACE characters can plan and make decisions like human players, allowing them to perceive their environment through both vision and audio cues.
Additionally, Krafton’s upcoming life simulation game inZOI will feature “Smart Zoi,” another form of CPC, providing a more immersive gaming environment. ACE characters can also serve as bosses in MIR5, offering players an engaging challenge. These innovations signal a new era of AI-driven gaming, where players can experience deeper, more interactive virtual worlds, with NPCs that rival human players in terms of intelligence and capability.
