WhatsApp may soon remind you about unread messages, with an upcoming feature designed to notify users of missed messages and unseen Status updates. According to WABetaInfo, this feature is currently being tested in the beta version of the app for Android, specifically in WhatsApp beta version 2.24.25.29.
The new update uses an internal algorithm to prioritize notifications based on your recent interactions, ensuring that you receive alerts for messages and Status updates from your most frequently contacted people first. This \”priority\” treatment is temporary and will adjust based on your interaction patterns. For example, if you reinstall WhatsApp, your prioritized notifications and Status updates will reset.
This feature is currently only available to beta testers, and to try it out, you’ll need to join the WhatsApp beta program and ensure your Google Play Store is up to date.
Additionally, WhatsApp is rolling out a new sticker-sharing feature that allows users to send entire sticker packs in one step. This update is available on both Android and iOS platforms, with the iOS version currently in WhatsApp version 24.24.83, and it will be gradually released to more users.
