Trump has expressed openness to the idea of Tesla CEO Elon Musk or Oracle chairman Larry Ellison purchasing TikTok, potentially in partnership with the U.S. government.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Trump was asked if he would support Elon Musk buying TikTok, to which he responded affirmatively, adding that he would also be interested in Larry Ellison purchasing the app.
This comes after Trump signed an executive order on Monday extending the TikTok ban deadline by 75 days, instructing the Department of Justice not to enforce penalties associated with the ban. While TikTok remains available to users, it has been removed from app stores.

To find a solution, Trump is considering a proposal where the U.S. government grants TikTok a permit to operate in the country, with the condition that the app’s ownership be split 50/50 between the buyer and the U.S. government.”I have the right to make a deal,” Trump stated, emphasizing that the potential deal would involve the buyer receiving a permit to continue operating TikTok.
